Abstract

The recent collection of 12 specimens of Typhlops from northwestern Honduras demonstrates that Typhlops stadelmani is a valid species of wormsnake. Thus, Typhlops stadelmani is removed from the synonymy of Typhlops tenuis. A taxonomic synopsis of the newly defined T. stadelmani is provided.
